About Optivance

Built by someone who grew up in the practice.

Optivance started from watching my dad. He’s an optometrist, and for years I watched him run his whole practice almost single-handed: the patient, the workshop, the documentation, the bookkeeping, the suppliers, all anchored on him.

And it’s not only him. A lot of practices live with the same gap. The EMRs they’re offered can’t touch the lab or the suppliers, or they’re simply too generic to fit how an optical practice actually works.

So we built the software the practice actually needed.

The problem we kept seeing

It was never the people. It was the tools.

Paper-based records, and a workshop that runs on memory.

No real-time update on workshop progress, so the patient is never told where their order stands.

EMRs that don’t fully meet the clinic’s needs, and suppliers managed off on their own, separate from everything else.

Pilot practice

We used to track stock in a physical book and it ate up so much time. Now Optivance tells me when something is running low, I send a purchase order straight to my distributor, and the record updates on its own.
